Time for CHANGE ... can you help?

A couple of weeks ago, Noah and Titus were playing in the back yard. They unlocked, and sneaked through the gate and were running around the front yard, and towards the street.

Last week, Noah unlocked and opened the front door and he and Titus ran outside.  By the time I was able to catch Titus, Noah had already ran across the street - and was coming back across the street  to the house.

One of the goals of a service dog is to help provide safety and security for kids with Autism, kids who like to run.  The service dog will be trained to stop dangerous behaviors (like unlocking the gate and running to the front yard) or to chase and tackle Noah when he tries to run away.

We are in the midst of raising money for our service dog (for more info, check this out: The Beaty Bunch)

One of the ways we're working at finding money is by using CHANGE JARS.  You've seen them, at a restaurant, check out counter, or gas station.  I have available ALL shapes and sizes of containers!

I have LARGE ONES:

I have Medium and Small ones:

I would LOVE to come to you and drop one of these off for you.  Let  me know where and when!

Would you maybe be willing to take one of these and put it at your office?  Maybe on your desk at work?  Or even in your car cup holder, and put your own change in there?

If you don't live near here, I can email you the picture for the front of a jar, and some brochures and business cards. Our business cards have our personal website on them, so your friends can learn about our boys.

I even have a cover letter you can give to a store owner or your boss, to explain the situation with our boys.

Let me know if you'd like to help CHANGE our life!

A Challenge but GOD is FAITHFUL!!

I'm working on clutter ... I mean PAPERWORK ... at my desk - listening to Pandora.  I'm wondering how I can raise this money for our 5 boys and their service dog, and I'm feeling slightly discouraged.

(Ok - honesty here - I almost started to complain.)

(God - you gave us these boys.
We need some help - they need the service dog -
WHY is it taking so long to raise money?
Why can't someone just give us $1000 to jumpstart this????)

OK - I was complaining.
(It's only been a couple of weeks that we've started the fundraising!)

Then - the 'Facebook ding' - someone messaged me ....

"Hey Karen!  Hope you guys are well!  I wanted to give you a little proposition!  We would like to donate to the Paws 4 Beatys, but we would like to do it in the form of a challenge.  My husband and I will match the total donations that come in from now until the end of October up to $500.

WHAT???
I reread this - and then felt slightly guilty - I could have just asked God to encourage me - and He would have - I didn't have to complain!

She went on to say:
"You can share the challenge, of course, with other to get them to contribute.  I hope  it helps spur others to donate and we are excited to see what happens!"

WOW!!
I'm sure excited too -

Then I realized that God was playing this song on Pandora ...

....and as I listen right then - here's the words I heard:

Knowing that for every step
You were with  us
Kneeling on this battle ground
Seeing just how much You've done

But with Joy our hearts can say

Never once
Did we ever walk alone

Never once
Did You leave us on our own

You are FAITHFUL!

GOD!  You are FAITHFUL!!!!!

My friend went on to say:
"Share away! and let's see what God can do!  Again, the thanks goes to HIM!"

Yes - as always... The thanks goes to HIM!!

BUT THE STORY GOES ON!!!
"Another email ... We would like to match that first $500" ...

So...if I can figure my math correctly ...

That means for every dollar donated in the next 10 days
it will not only be doubled - but TRIPLED!!

Yes - as always... The thanks goes to HIM!!

Would you like to help meet the challenge in the next 10 days?  Here's one way or email me for more information.

** When God meets the $500 challenge
with $500 ...
and another $500
... that's $1500 **

Oh - if only I'd deal with my kids whinings like God deals with mine!

A text message

Got a text message from Hannah:

"I'm using those pens you sent every day in class"

I'd guess that was $7.58 well spent!

Excitedly Overwhelmed

4 Paws For Ability

Overwhelmed - Yes -
Excited - even more so!

Guess that means I am excitedly overwhelmed with the thought of raising $14,000 for a service dog.

So - trying to organize everything we have to get together - web pages, places to donate, pictures of kids, stories about the boys, letters, etc.  AAUUGGHHH!!

~MORE TO DO~

~more updates, more links to click on, more cute stories...

~more doubt, more frustration...

~more prayer, more trust , more reliance on God...

~More of God shining through.

A prayer ... from a friend

It's been a while since I've blogged.
Life has been hard and busy.
What a blessing to receive this encouragement via email from a friend.
Would you join her in praying for us:

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge your majesty, power and sovereignty.
We love you and desire to serve you.

I petition you on behalf of my Brother and  Sister,
Andrew and Karen
and ask that you pour out your Holy Spirit on the Beaty household and all its members today.

Cause them to feel your presence
and to find peace, rest and strength in it.

In your perfect time
and
by a miracle of your hand,
resolve any of the medical and emotional issues that do not and will not serve your purposes.
Exile the enemy from this household and use the remaining challenges to the glory of your name.

I boldly ask that you would bring practical support to this household through your Church.
House help,
meal ministry,
drivers,
yard workers,
book keepers and accountants,
laymates,
mentors,
teachers,
tutors,
medical assistance,
volunteer therapists,
handi-men,
and all other manner of practical helpers,

Lord, move in the community around the Beaty’s to bring all this.
May those that rise up be committed
beyond the moment
and provide enduring, consistent, diligent and intentional service.

Throw open the barn doors of your care and provision for the Beaty Bunch ministry
and love on them like never before
offering respite,
solace
and encouragement
in accordance with your will
and as a witness to your ability to do all things.

Thank you for what you will do
and for the opportunity to grow in faith
as we bring our requests to you.

Amen and Amen!

Saturday mornings are for SLEEP IN ...

I never get to sleep.  I always have someone awake...walking through the house.  So, sleep is very precious to me.

But I work hard to get kids to sleep... and NOT get up at 5 am on Saturday morning.

That didn't work so well for me today.  Four little boys decided to get up and play at 5 am.

That didn't work so well for those 4 little boys today.

Momma decided they could scrub my kitchen floor and clean my patio.

This is not the way they planned on spending their Saturday morning.

Maybe they will sleep in till 6 am tomorrow?
